For nearly five decades, the New Museum has stood as a beacon of cutting-edge art, technology, and culture. Attracting New Audiences to a Literary Institution
Since its founding in 1963, the New York Review of Books has been a leader in literary criticism. Athletics was invited to redesign the platform to help attract a younger, more diverse readership while preserving its intellectual rigor. Through bold digital design and strategic content reorganization, we modernized the Review’s digital identity without sacrificing its rich heritage. Our work provided a clear framework for showcasing both print and online content, creating a balanced experience that appeals to both longtime subscribers and new readers.

Guild
Empowering Career Growth Through Storytelling
Guild is a career opportunity platform that partners with Fortune 1000 companies to provide education and career pathways to their employees. Athletics developed Guild’s digital platform, extending its brand into the digital space with rich storytelling modules. The site celebrates Guild’s impact on career mobility by showcasing real stories of learners and their journeys, while intuitive navigation ensures a seamless user experience. This project earned Athletics a Webby Award for its innovative approach to brand storytelling.

Creative Ecosytems
Athletics partnered with activist-creative Annika Hansteen-Izora to develop Creative Ecosystems, a platform connecting Black creatives with resources and communities. Built using WordPress for easy user-generated content, the brand and digital directory celebrate Black art and imagination. The project evolved from a collaborative design process in Figma, focusing on a typographically strong, expressive, yet simple interface. The team’s integration of creative expression and technical execution resulted in a user-friendly site that exceeded expectations, earning a Webby nomination and cultivating a growing audience. This project highlights the team’s expertise in blending brand building and product creation through deep collaboration.

Pulitzer Art Foundation
Pulitzer Arts Foundation is known for its eclectic, contemplative approach to art. Athletics crafted a visual identity that reflects the institution’s open, interpretive style. Through a minimalist design featuring clean typography and strategic use of negative space, we ensured the digital platform complemented Pulitzer’s serene physical spaces.
The redesigned site offers a flexible and easy-to-maintain system, enabling the small internal team to manage the site effectively while maintaining a sophisticated, user-friendly experience.

Reaktor
Reaktor builds custom software of the highest order, digital products powering some of the world’s biggest brands. The notion of a signature duality between IQ and EQ became an organizing principle for site explorations with Reaktor. One concept was to bring previously siloed Reaktor.com content (blog posts, articles, podcast episodes, announcements) closer together into an expressive, exploratory content library—and to organize it in such a way that it could be made filterable and searchable.

Meet NYU
Amplifying Voices at a Prestigious Global University
To attract the next generation of talented students, NYU turned to Athletics for a compelling new editorial platform combining a number of existing digital admissions properties. The new platform, Meet NYU, was designed to amplify two significant voices: students and staff. Built with versatile editorial tools, Meet NYU allows the Admissions department’s publishing team to weave a range of narratives related to a range of student and staff needs, resulting in increased admissions site traffic and audience engagement with content.
