Open to the Public — Civic Space Now
Center for Architecture
What makes public space compelling and enjoyable? What, in fact, makes it public? The exhibition Open to the Public: Civic Space Now at The Center for Architecture featured contemporary public spaces dedicated to congregation, circulation or contemplation, with many combining elements of all of these functions. Whatever their use and impact, each of the spaces in the exhibition explore ideas of community, occupation and the shared experiences that public spaces provide. Athletics developed all aspects of the exhibition identity and design as well as all printed materials and advertising.
