Open to the Public — Civic Space Now
The Center for Architecture—Reflecting on Civic Space
What makes public space alluring? What, or who, for that matter, defines what is public and what is private? The Center for Architecture’s exhibition ‘Open to the Public: Civic Space Now,’ explores contemporary urban public space constructed for congregation and contemplation. Athletics developed an identity that touched all touch points of the exhibition to support the experience of becoming immersed in how community is designed in the modern world.
Collaborators: Kris Graves and Sam Lahoz
The spaces studied in the exhibition were divided into three themes: congregation, contemplation and circulation.
