We’ve always liked sharing our working process and a peek behind the scenes with student groups. Our favorite visits are the ones that turn into a great conversation and bridge the gap between what we’re doing and what the students are doing. Rarely is a one-sided presentation rewarding for either side.
We’ve found the most engaged and interested groups are the student-led ones – they’re always excited to be here because they’ve taken the initiative to organize the trip and select the studios themselves. We were particularly impressed with a recent visit from Georgia State University’s Graphic Design Club, who paid their way by designing and selling their own posters and totes and took turns driving overnight to make the trek to NYC. They came armed with tons of fantastic questions, which led to a great discussion.
Athletics is built on a team of self-starters, so we’re encouraged to see like-minded students come through, curious and ready to learn.
